Description

Haworthia truncata, also known as the Horse's Teeth, is a fascinating succulent endemic to South Africa. This slow-growing plant is characterized by its unique, truncate (cut-off) leaf tips that resemble the teeth of a horse. The leaves are arranged in two opposite rows, forming a distinctive fan shape, often with translucent windows that allow light to penetrate into the plant's interior. The color varies from deep green to reddish-brown, depending on light exposure. The leaves are firm and fleshy, designed to store water, making them drought-tolerant. It thrives in bright, indirect light and requires well-draining soil. The plant produces small, white flowers on long stems. Propagation is easy through offsets that appear around the base of the plant. Avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot.
