Description

Beaucarnea guatemalensis, often called the Guatemalan Ponytail Palm, is a slow-growing, ornamental tree native to Guatemala. It's characterized by a swollen, bottle-shaped trunk used for water storage, and long, cascading, green leaves that resemble a ponytail. The leaves emerge from the top of the trunk, creating an unusual and attractive silhouette. This species is relatively drought-tolerant due to its water-storing trunk. The plant can grow to significant heights over time. In cultivation, this tree is easy to care for as it is adaptable to a variety of conditions. Provide well-draining soil and plenty of sunlight, but also water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings.
